Dr Patterson received a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Purdue University in 1982, and then he went on to get his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Upon graduation, Dr. Patterson went to work on the East Coast.
He owned and operated Pennfield Breeding Farm, where he provided Equine Reproductive services to Central New Jersey. He also owned and operated Newport Animal Hospital, where he treated small animals and exotics.
In 1998, he received his Advanced Avian Certificate.
In 2006, he moved to New Mexico, where he worked on the Navajo Reservation. In New Mexico, he was a Professor at a tribal college, teaching second year Veterinary Technicians. He also was the Hospital Administrator while he was there.
Dr Patterson then moved to Payson Arizona, where he worked at a small animal practice, providing alternative medicine.
He now owns and operates Holistic Veterinary Services, providing Alternative Medicine to Large and Small Animals in the Payson area.
Dr Patterson treats his patients using a Holistic approach, using multiple modalities, which include Acupuncture, Access Chiropractic, Myofacial Release, Herbal Medicine, Laser Therapy, Biopuncture, Homotoxicology, Biofeedback Immune Enhancement, and Nutritional Therapy, as well as Western Medicine.
Dr. Patterson received his training and certification in acupuncture with IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society) in 2000. In 2001, he trained to become a Veterinary Chiropractitioner.
He has served on Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and was President of the House of Delegates of IVAS. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the AAVA (American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture), and on the CE Committee. He has been a teaching assistant in the IVAS Basic Acupuncture course, and has lectured at their Congress.
